Raymond has been collecting beads for over 40 years. He has lived, worked and traveled extensively in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Sub-Continent. This has given him the extraordinary opportunity to amass a rich, eclectic collection of beads and curiosities from which he draws to create his neckpieces. After his retirement in Heidelberg, Germany in August, 1988, he returned to Hawaii where he has concentrated his efforts to creating jewelry and women's apparel, something far removed from what he was academically trained to do or practiced as a profession. However, this new "life-after-work" is what his soul has always sought to accomplish. |
