Selecting a fan, sizes range 29" ~ 60" blade span or diameter
Smaller fans for baths, hallways 29" apx. 50 sq. ft.
The 36" Up 75 sq. ft,
The common 42" used for up to 100 sq. Ft.
The 50" - 52" standard rooms, up to 400 sq. Ft
Above 52" for those great room or large areas over 400 sq. Ft.
If the room is a family room, Living room or kitchen it is considered a day time usage and should have a minium of 13 degree blade pitch. The night time use rooms , bedroom may use a 12 degree.
The number of blades do not increase air flow . The angle of blade or pitch and speed and blade surface are major factors. The high blade pitches 15 or 16 degree may cause air or wind noise.
Accessories such as lights or wall controls are available for most fans. A "QuietSet or Dehummer should be use on fans to control speeds. Light dimmer should never be used for fan control.
When replacing existing light, with a new fan and light, be mindful you may have only one circuit or one set of wires . If can not separate fan and light unless you provide a smart switch or Intel-touch, or remote. A wall control requires separate wires.
Installation: House are usually 8' ceiling. The ceiling fan are design to be hung out of the box.
