OUR BRINE SHRIMP PRODUCTION AND CARE

Our warm water brine shrimp are grown in Hawaii on the island of Oahu, in salt water pools. To keep the brine shrimp alive, water is mixed with synthetic marine salt, plain Hawaiian salt, or kd medium rock salt. Salinity of the water must be 1025 on a hydrometer reading during holding. Water is aerated to keep the brine shrimp alive.

After shipping, if you want to keep the brine shrimp alive longer, aerate the water and use a sponge filter. If you cannot aerate the water, us a 30 gallon container for a cup or two of brine shrimp with the correct salinity to keep the brine shrimp alive longer. If the brine shrimp will be used as fish food within a week, there is no special care needed for the brine shrimp. If you want to keep the brine shrimp alive for weeks, then you must feed the brine shrimp.

| Our brine shrimp must be shipped to its destination within 24-48 hours so the brine shrimp does not run out of oxygen. The longer the shipping time, the more water it will take to keep the brine shrimp healthy (the more weight, the higher the shipping cost). |
